one month until KILL CREATURES!

hello from my favorite coffee shop where i am being super chill and totally not wondering if anyone would notice if i went outside to throw up on the sidewalk really quickly

yes as you might have guessed from that sentence (and from… you know… the subject line of this post) KILL CREATURES is out in a month! a MONTH! one!!!! month!!!!! it totally snuck up on me!

i started writing this book in 2022 and a key part of the process for me was keeping myself in this bubble of “there is only me and the page — the work is all that matters” and i never really popped that bubble which is GOOD because the work is like… the work is the POINT right so it’s important to me that when i’m looking at the page, said page is the only thing i’m thinking about

but also…. also the book is going to be in stores and i would like for people to read it and that is happening much sooner than i’d really internalized and oh man oh man it’s like i just looked down and realized i’ve been on a tightrope above the grand canyon for the last year!!! what the hell am i DOING out here!

okay that was the minor freakout over with so on to the launch event!

LAUNCH EVENT

to celebrate the release of KILL CREATURES¹ i’m doing a q&a with bestselling author C. L. Herman! charlie is an incredible writer and a better friend and has very kindly agreed to chat with me about the book (everybody say thank you charlie)

we will be at PORTER SQUARE BOOKS in Cambridge, MA on Friday, June 6 at 7pm! expect some jokes, some complaining about how Writing Is Hard, some references to my cat that didn’t really need to be there but i love her so i talk about her constantly, etc

if you know you’d like to attend, it helps to rsvp² just so porter square can plan better, but feel free to swing by regardless!
